Beginning Creative Clothes Mending Workshop

$25 per person; Ages 14+; All Materials Provided

Dont get rid of it – mend it! Visible mending is a creative and beautiful way to extend the life of your clothes, reducing your clothing waste and giving new life to damaged or old clothes.

Please join us for a beginning workshop wherewe will make a small sewing kit to take home that will teach us basic skills we can use to get started on our mending journey.

Later workshops will teach us more advanced mending techniques, but in this workshop we will learn simple stitching and patching skills. We will also discuss how mending can unleash creativity, calm the soul, become a small act of resistance against fast fashion and help to heal our planet.

Taught by Karen Bellacosa, a reformed clothing designer, maker and mender who started the Repair Caf in Winchester. She is a passionate advocate for buying less, but buying better quality garments that can be worn for years with proper care – and mending!

Class will be held at Center Goods, 30 Waltham St Lexington MA.
